ADJACENT-CLINIC ADVERTISING RISK · UK

Four ASA rulings on treatment claims in clinic ads.

Published 23 September 2026. A separate advertising-enforcement record within Peptide Readiness.

Classification

These rulings concern stem-cell clinic advertising. Stem-cell therapy is not classified here as a peptide. The rulings do not establish medicine authorisation, clinical efficacy, NICE recommendation or NHS access.

What the ASA decided

The ASA upheld four related rulings about UK-targeted paid ads by overseas clinics. The ads claimed stem-cell therapy could treat or alleviate traits associated with autism in children. The ASA found the treatment claims lacked robust scientific substantiation and applied CAP Code rules 3.1, 3.7 and 12.1.

The rulings show that a disclaimer, testimonial or internal outcome report does not necessarily change the overall impression of a treatment claim. An overseas clinic advertising to UK audiences remains exposed to UK advertising scrutiny.
